IBT has apparently received confirmation from it sources that the next-generation console will be called the Xbox Infinity, which opens up a lot of ways in which the pleasingly symmetrical infinity symbol could be used as a logo. However, when IBT contacted Microsoft through official channels, the company’s representatives frostily replied that it, “does not comment on rumor and speculation.” Whether that means that the ‘Infinity’ moniker is simply another rumor, or that Microsoft are simply holding off on acknowledging the name until they officially present the console at an announcement press conference is unclear, and without knowing who IBT’s sources are it’s difficult to get an idea of how reliable this “confirmation” is....

Xbox boss Phil Spencer attempted to allay the fears of Xbox fans last week when he said that Project Scorpio would not shorten the life cycle of the Xbox One. Now, Shuhei Yoshida, president of worldwide studios at Sony Interactive Entertainment, has spoken out to confirm that Sony has the same point of view about the PlayStation Neo and PlayStation 4. “The PlayStation 4 is the PlayStation 4,” Yoshida told German website Gameswelt....

This could be a landmark month for PlayStation Now, and such high-profile additions could lead to more subscriptions to the service.
